Ishmam Raidah Rahman comes from a lineage rooted in public service and humanitarianism, instilling in her a dedication to uplifting marginalized communities and championing social justice. Guided by the values instilled by her parents, H. N. Ashequr Rahman and Rehana Ashequr Rahman, Ms. Rahman's upbringing fostered in her a commitment to making a positive impact on the world.
Driven by her passion for social justice and community empowerment, Ms. Rahman pursued academic excellence and professional success. She graduated from the prestigious Scripps College in Claremont, California, earning a Bachelor's degree in English and Legal Studies.
Ms. Rahman has more than a decade of experience in the non-profit and philanthropy sector, specializing in omnichannel marketing, supporter & customer experience, branding, and high-value fundraising for non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Her professional journey spans impactful organizations such as the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Lambda Legal, and Providence House in the United States, where she spearheaded bold initiatives, transforming marketing and fundraising programs through innovative strategies.
Ms. Rahman currently serves as the Deputy Director of Mid-level Giving at the International Rescue Committee (IRC), a global humanitarian organization that responds to the world’s worst crises and helps refugees and displaced families to survive and rebuild their lives. At the IRC, she leads the strategy of the Mid-level Giving program and raises $40 million annually from high-value donors contributing $1,000 or more.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Rahman is passionate about financial literacy and inclusion, recognizing its pivotal role in empowering underserved and marginalized communities. By promoting financial inclusion, she believes we can create opportunities for all individuals to thrive, contributing to a more sustainable and equitable world.
